If you book a consultation with a prescribing clinician for the treatment of premature ejaculation, you can discuss if Priligy is a suitable treatment option for you. At the end of the consultation, the clinician will decide if a treatment plan is suitable for you.

Mode of Action

It is now mainly used to treat premature ejaculation. Priligy helps to delay ejaculation by increasing the activity of serotonin in the body’s nervous system. This helps slow down ejaculation and prolong sex. NowPatient offers Priligy as a treatment for premature ejaculation only, following an online consultation with a prescribing clinician. Priligy has some common side effects which include headaches and dizziness It can be dangerous if you take Priligy with certain medications. If it is, the clinician will issue you with a prescription which can then be ordered, paid for and delivered directly to your chosen address by NowPatient. Priligy is available in tablet form when used for premature ejaculation. It is available in strengths ranging from 30mg to 60mg tablets. Priligy tablets should be taken a couple of hours before sexual activity, to increase ejaculatory latency in men. Take Priligy tablets with or without food, with a full glass of water. Do not take more than one tablet in a 24-hour period. Read the patient information leaflet or speak to your healthcare provider for further information. If you take more than prescribed, then it can lead to some unpleasant side effects. You should talk to your doctor or reach out to one of our prescribing clinicians, if you have taken too much Priligy and you experience any of the following side effects: Side effects of Priligy are split into common and serious. Feeling faint or lightheaded when you stand up If you experience any serious side effects, you should contact NHS 111. If you experience a serious allergic reaction with the signs shown below you should contact emergency services on 999. Your lips, mouth, throat or tongue suddenly become swollen You’re breathing very fast or struggling to breathe (you may become very wheezy or feel like you’re choking or gasping for air) Your throat feels tight or you’re struggling to swallow Your skin, tongue or lips turn blue, grey or pale (if you have black or brown skin, this may be easier to see on the palms of your hands or soles of your feet) You suddenly become very confused, drowsy or dizzy Someone faints and cannot be woken up Always report adverse effects to the MHRA yellow card reporting system.

What is Premature Ejaculation?

Patients treated with moderate or potent inhibitors of CYP3A4 Concomitant use of potent CYP3A4 inhibitors is contraindicated. The dose should be restricted to 30 mg in patients concomitantly treated with moderate CYP3A4 inhibitors and caution is advised (see sections 4.3, 4.4 and 4.5). Tablets should be swallowed whole to avoid the bitter taste. It is recommended that tablets be taken with at least one full glass of water. Priligy may be taken with or without food (see section 5.2). You can read more about this here How and where do I report side effects of my medication? There is not enough evidence to suggest there are any drug interactions between herbal supplements and Priligy. In any event, you should let your prescribing clinician know if you are taking any herbal supplements or other prescription drugs, such as: Priligy is a temporary solution for premature ejaculation, it is not a cure and does not treat the underlying causes. Priligy works best when combined with behavioural techniques, counselling or psychotherapy. Priligy should be tried at least 6 times before trying an alternative dose or treatment. Speak to your doctor for further information. If you have been marketed such a formulation, it may be fake. You can eat and drink normally when taking Prligy, but you should avoid alcohol, as it may increase side effects such as sleepiness and dizziness. If you are suffering with premature ejaculation, you may try: Masturbating 1 to 2 hours before sex Use a thick condom to reduce sensitivity Taking a deep breath to temporarily stop ejaculation Alternatives for the treatment of premature ejaculation include Emla cream, LMX4, Denela, and Nulbia. NowPatient has taken all reasonable steps to ensure that all material is factually accurate, complete, and current.

PEP (HIV Post-Exposure Prophilaxis)

There is no relevant use of Priligy in this population in the indication of premature ejaculation. Caution is advised in patients with mild or moderate renal impairment. Priligy is not recommended for use in patients with severe renal impairment (see sections 4.4 and 5.2). Priligy is contraindicated in patients with moderate and severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh Class B and C) (see sections 4.3 and 5.2). Known CYP2D6 poor metabolizers or patients treated with potent CYP2D6 inhibitors Caution is advised if increasing the dose to 60 mg in patients known to be of CYP2D6 poor metabolizer genotype or in patients concomitantly treated with potent CYP2D6 inhibitors (see sections 4.4, 4.5 and 5.2). However, the knowledge and experience of a qualified healthcare professional should always be sought after instead of using the information on this page. Will grapefruit affect dapoxetine (Priligy)?

Book a quick face-to-face video consultation with a certified prescribing pharmacist, nurse, or doctor. If approved, your Priligy will be prescribed* and delivered straight to your door with free next-day delivery†. Priligy tablets are manufactured by A. Menarini and contain the active ingredient dapoxetine. It was originally researched as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant, but had a short action time. Priligy is a prescription medication containing dapoxetine, used to treat premature ejaculation (PE) in men aged 18–64. Dapoxetine is a short-acting selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) specifically designed for on-demand use before sexual activity. It is the only licensed oral treatment for premature ejaculation in the UK. Priligy is available as 30 mg and 60 mg tablets. Dapoxetine increases serotonin activity in the nerve synapses that control ejaculation. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that helps delay ejaculation by inhibiting the ejaculatory reflex. Unlike long-acting SSRIs used for depression, dapoxetine is rapidly absorbed and rapidly eliminated, making it suitable for on-demand use before sex rather than daily dosing. Clinical studies show it approximately doubles intravaginal ejaculatory latency time (IELT). Clinical trials show that Priligy approximately doubles or triples the time to ejaculation.

Side effects of Priligy Tablet

If you’re not sure if it is safe, discuss this with the prescribing clinician Priligy is suitable for men between the ages of 18 and 64. Priligy may not be suitable for some people. To make sure it’s safe for you, speak to the prescribing clinician before taking Priligy if you: Are allergic to the active ingredient dapoxetine or inactive ingredients such as lactose monohydrate, croscarmellose sodium, or magnesium stearate Priligy may be taken with medicines such as Viagra (sildenafil) for erectile dysfunction, but you must stay well hydrated when using this combination, to reduce the increased risk of dizziness or fainting. You can buy Priligy safely and securely from NowPatient. You can start a consultation today for free and if you qualify for treatment, you only pay for the cost of the medication. At 30 mg, average IELT increased from about 0.9 minutes to 3.1 minutes. At 60 mg, it increased to about 3.6 minutes. Priligy also significantly improves perceived control over ejaculation and reduces distress. It is most effective when combined with behavioural techniques. Take one 30 mg tablet 1–3 hours before anticipated sexual activity. Swallow whole with a full glass of water. If the 30 mg dose is insufficient, your prescriber may increase it to 60 mg. Do not take more than one dose in 24 hours. Priligy can be taken with or without food but avoid excessive alcohol. Stay well-hydrated to reduce the risk of fainting. Priligy can be used alongside PDE5 inhibitors (sildenafil, tadalafil) if a man has both premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction. However, the combination may increase the risk of side effects, particularly dizziness and low blood pressure. Your prescriber should assess suitability and monitor you carefully.
